Biography

Dr. Victor Andreev is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, USA. Dr. Andreev is also a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at the Center for Computational Sciences, University of Miami. Dr. Andreev earned his PhD at the St.Petersburg Polytechnic University, Russia, and his Doctor of Sciences degree at the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Andreev has published 60 peer-reviewed papers and is an author of 4 book chapters. Dr. Andreev has more than 20 years of teaching experience. He served as a member of the editorial board of Talanta (The International Journal of Pure and Applied Analytical Chemistry) 2001-2005, and of Nauchnoe Priborostroenie (Scientific Instrumentation, Russia) 1995-2001. He is currently at the editorial boards of several journals: Journal of Pharmacogenomics and Pharmacoproteomics, Journal of Addictive Behaviors, Therapy and Rehabilitation, Advances in Pharmacoepidemiolgy and Drug Safety, Frontiers in Genetics. Dr. Andreev is an ad hoc reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals including: Journal of Proteome Research, The Pharmacogenomics Journal, Molecular Psychiatry, Analytical Chemistry, Talanta, and Electrophoresis. He is a member of American Society for Mass Spectrometry since 2001. Dr. Andreev received many awards including: Giessen Memorial Award in Advanced Research, Northeastern University, Boston, 2002; Fellowship of Cariplo Foundation, Landau Network- Centro Volta, Italy, 2001; Honorary Award of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, 1999; Joliot Professorship Fellowship, Ecole Superieure de Physique et de Chimie, Paris, France, 1998; J.William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship, USIA, Washington, DC, USA, 1995.

Research Interest

Dr. Victor Andreev's research interests include: Bioinformatics, proteomics, pharmacoproteomics, pharmacogenomics, and systems biology of mental disorders, metabolic syndrome, immune disorders, addiction, obesity and aging. Intracellular transport. Computational biology, signal processing algorithms.
