University of Macerata

The University of Macerata was founded in 1290 and it is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Its main activities are focused on the humanities and social sciences.

The Giacomo Leopardi School of Advanced Studies offers excellent multidisciplinary teaching programmes for young and talented students. Thanks to the local Confucius Institute, the University of Macerata plays a leading role in promoting Chinese language and culture.

Over the last few years the University has developed a multicampus structure, with some programmes located around the Marche region in the town of Jesi, but with most of its facilities and activities hosted in the open main campus within the city of Macerata.
