Biography
Dr. Hutson completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Pttsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). He then accepted a position at the University of Utah where he started his career as Director of GI Motility. He later returned to the University of Pittsburgh as Director of the Small Intestinal Transplantation program and a member of the liver transplant program in the world renowned Thomas E. Starzl MD Transplant Institute. After several years there, he returned to the University of Utah as Director of Hepatology, and started a new liver transplant program. The liver transplant program grew and assumed a role as the premier liver transplant program in the intermountain west. Dr. Hutson then returned to his roots on the east coast in mid-2012, and joined the faculty at the University of Maryland as Director of Hepatology, and Medical Director of Liver Transplantation.
