Dr. Kalajzic obtained his Ph.D from Split University School of Medicine, Croatia. He has completed his M.D. from Zagreb University School of Medicine, Croatia. Ivo Kalajzic holds a joint appointment in the Department of Genetics and Developmental Biology, University of Connecticut School of Medicine; and is also an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine, University of Osijek, Croatia. He is also a member of the UConn Stem Cell Institute and the New England Musculoskeletal Institute. Ivo Kalajzic is a faculty member in the Skeletal, Craniofacial and Oral Biology and the Genetics and Developmental Biology Graduate Programs.

Research Interest

Dr. Kalajzic's research focuses on Defining the Myofibroblast/pericyte as a Mesenchymal Progenitor Cell, Evaluation of Osteocyte Dedifferentiation Process, Regenerative Potential of Periodontal Progenitor Cells.
