Dr. Oliver Yang obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada. Dr. Yang is a senior IEEE member since 2000. He is currently a Professor in the School of Information Technology and Engineering at the University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. And is currently on the editorial board of IEEE Communication Surveys & Tutorial. Dr. Yang has served as an editor of IEEE Commun Magazine and as Associated Director of Ottawa-Carleton Institute of Computer and Electrical Engineering. Dr. Yang research interests are in the design, modeling, analysis and performance evaluation of computer communication networks, their protocols, services as well as queueing theory, simulations, computational algorithms and their applications. The CCNR Lab under his leadership has been working on various projects and has published many papers in switch architecture, traffic control, traffic characterization, and other traffic engineering issues in both wireless and photonic networks.

Dr. Oliver Yang's research interests include: Broadband ATM Switch architecture, Photonic Network, Wireless Network, Traffic Management in High Speed Network, Network Topologies, Real-time Communication, Network Modeling, analysis and Performance Evaluation, Protocols and Algorithms, Queuing analysis
