Biography

Dr. SK Prabuji works as a Director at the Biotechology and Molecular Biology Centre. Dr. SK Prabuji has been teaching Ethnobotany, Microbiology and Morphogenesis since 1975. He did his B.Sc. (Biology) in 1972 from Ewing Christian College, Allahabad (affiliated to Allahabad University), M.Sc. (Botany) in 1974 from St. Andrew's College, Gorakhpur (affiliated to Gorakhpur University) and got his Ph.D. degree in 1979 in Microbiology (Aquatic Mycology) from Gorakhpur University under the able guidance of Prof. K.S. Bhargava and Dr. G.C. Srivastava. Dr. Prabhuji has earlier served as Lecturer in Botany in St. Andrew's College, Gorakhpur and in Udit Narain Postgraduate College, Padrauna (Dist: Kushinagar) as Reader. He is a prolific researcher. His research contributions are in various fields, viz., Aquatic Mycology, Fish-mycopathology, Medical Biotechnology, Biophysics, Biomathematics and Plant Morphogenesis. He has established a laboratory for the study of water moulds in the Biotechnology and Molecular Biology Centre, M.G. Postgraduate College, Gorakhpur, first of its kind in the Country. He is Secretary of ‘Green Blessings’ Society and working on endangered medicinal plants of India. He is fellow of various academic societies.
