Factors Influencing the Decision to Breastfeed by Mothers in a Southern Women’s Health Clinic

The benefits of breastfeeding infants up to six months post-partum are well documented in literature, yet current data estimates that many populations in the United States fail to meet the recommended guidelines, in particular in the African American/Black communities.
