Dr. Matteo Balderacchi is an agriculturist borrowed to the environmental chemistry. He got MSc in Agriculture at University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy) and PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Ecology of Pesticides at the University of Milan. His main field of interest is modeling the environment at different scales. Dr. Matteo Balderacchi started doing with pesticide but his interested widen to nutrient and to emerging organic pollutants. He modeled different agricultural environments from Europe, Chile, India and South Africa. At the present is investigating on the effect of different mitigation techniques including wetland, vegetative filter strips and crop rotation. He is also involved in a European project that aims to provide new knowledge on the groundwater dependent ecosystem protection from pollution, water abstraction and climate change. During free time is leading the local association on wine tasting.
