Biography

Dr. Matthew Juhascik is an Associate Director/QA Officer of the forensic toxicology laboratory at UMass Memorial Hospital Laboratories in Worcester, MA. The laboratory conducts postmortem toxicology work for the state of Massachusetts and performs analysis on over 4,000 cases a year. His current duties include technical oversight of all analytical procedures, quality assurance/quality control program, training and proficiency testing. Dr. Matthew Juhascik is also responsible for screening/confirmatory data review and case review. Dr. Matthew Juhascik is an Instructor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Matthew Juhascik received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Dayton in Ohio, and an M.S. degree in Forensic Sciences from the University of Illinois-Chicago. His Ph.D. was also from the University of Illinois-Chicago with a thesis on drug-facilitated sexual assault. His current research interests include method development/validation, LC/MS/MS and epidemiology of drug use.
