Dr. Nicholas Breitborde is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona. Dr. Breitborde received his PhD in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and completed his clinical internship at the Yale University Training Program in Clinical and Community Psychology. Following the completion of his doctoral program, Dr. Breitborde served as Project Director for the Specialized Treatment Early in Psychosis (STEP) Program at Yale University. Dr. Breitborde is Director of the Early Psychosis Intervention Center (EPICENTER) located at University of Arizona Medical Center - South Campus. EPICENTER is a clinical research program dedicated to the provision of empirically-supported treatments for individuals early in the course of a psychotic illness.

Research Interest

Dr. Breitborde's research and clinical interests include: 1) early intervention for psychotic disorders; 2) cultural and familial influences on the course of psychotic disorders; 3) health outcomes among family members caring for a relative with a psychotic disorder; and 4) statistics and research design.
