Biography

Dr. Fred Moeslein is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has worked at the University of Maryland for the last 5 years, and has been the Interim Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology for the last year. His B.S. in Biochemistry and his MD/PhD are from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After Medical school, he completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Cleveland Clinic, before coming to Baltimore for his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Research Interest

He is a practicing Interventional Radiologist with special interest in Interventional Oncologic and Hepatobiliary interventions. He has a busy clinical practice with extensive experience in a wide variety of catheter directed and percutaneous interventions. He has numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and has lectured both nationally and internationally on a variety of Interventional topics, most importantly Selective Internal Radiotherapy (SIRT) and Pancreatic Irreversible Electroporation. He has active research activities in Selective Internal Radiotherapy, Robotic Assisted Guidance, and Chemoembolization techniques and Irreversible Electroporation.
