Biography

Dr. Mirela Blaga graduated the Faculty of Textiles and Leather, from “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania. In 1993, at the same institute, she received a professor’s assistant position, and from 2014 she is full Professor at the Department of Knitting and Clothing, with expertise in the area of Knitting Technology, CAD Systems for Knitting, Technical Knitted Products. She obtained her Ph.D. title in 2003, in the field of Warp Knitting, after a research stage in Germany at FH Reutlingen, Karl Mayer and Liba companies. Dr. Blaga authored more than 160 scientific articles published in national and international journals and presented in international conferences. She has published 2 international chapter books and 8 national books and she participated in more than 20 national and international research and technological projects. Mirela Blaga is coordinating educational and research projects, being involved in international actions, as coordinator of the Erasmus exchange program for students and professors. Dr. Blaga is chairman of the scientific conferences: IFKT 2012 and AUTEX 2015, workshops of „e-Learning Software and Applications in Textiles” at ELSE 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 international event. She is member of editorial boards of textiles journals, member of several scientific committees and scientific reviewer for 13 specialized magazines. She is hired by the EU commission, to act as expert in FP 7 and Horizon 2020 evaluation process for MSCA applications, since 2011. Prof. Blaga is the President of Romanian Section of the International Federation of Knitting Technologists (IFKT), member of AUTEX board (Association of Universities for Textiles), Chartered Member of Textile Institute of Manchester (CText ATI) and member of professional organizations, including the Society of Technical Experts and Consultants in Romania.
