Biography

Dr. Michele Hansen works at the Telethon Kids Institute specialising in epidemiological research using population-based data linkage. Dr. Michele was awarded her doctorate in 2013, examining perinatal outcomes, birth defects and hospital admission in children born following ART treatment in WA using linked population-based data from several State health datasets. She is particularly well known for her work assessing birth defect prevalence in ART infants and has published two systematic reviews and meta-analyses on this topic. Michele is continuing her work addressing important gaps in this field including the lack of safety information available for the more recent ART techniques of blastocyst transfer and vitrification.
