About Remote sensing

Remote sensing is the advanced technology in geography which deals with the science of observing or recording the objects or events which are far away i.e. remote places such as earth’s surface and atmosphere using sensors onboard platforms.

Remote sensors gather information by measuring the electromagnetic radiation that is reflected, emitted and absorbed by objects in various spectral regions, from gamma-rays to radio waves. Remote sensing methods are used to gain a better understanding of the Earth and its functions.

Remote sensing covers major topics such as Multi-spectral and hyperspectral remote sensing, Active and passive microwave remote sensing, Lidar and laser scanning, Geometric reconstruction and sPhysical modeling and signatures
