CULTURE, SOCIETY, AND MENTAL HEALTH HELP-SEEKING BEHAVIOUR OF ARABIANS
Proponents of cross-cultural psychology are making concerted efforts to draw global attention to the existence of other cultures and are calling for their recognition if the field of psychology is to be considered a truly global one. The core content of modern psychological practice is predominantly Western, often creating obstacles in psychological practice and research in non-western regions. This narrative review aimed to explore how existing socio-cultural factors underpinning Arabian culture and tradition influence mental health help seeking by this group of people. Culture strongly influences the Arabians' beliefs and attitudes toward life events, and this may inadvertently exert a huge impact on their mental health helpseeking behavior. Mental health care providers should make concerted efforts to improve their capacity to recognize these cultural differences and increase their ability to understand how cultural beliefs and traditional practices affect the mental health-related behavior of Arabians
