Risk of new or recurrent cancer following biologic therapies: A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies

Background: Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and a history of malignancy are frequently seen in clinical practice. Considering increasing prescription of biologics, the safety of the agents requires further evaluation. We aim to explore the risk of new and recurrent cancer in adult RA patients with prior malignancy and subsequently exposed to biologic therapy via a meta-analysis of observational studies.
