Prof. Dixit was the Director of this centre after retirement of Prof. S. D. Dixit in 2015. He is the Dean of Faculty of Science. He did his B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, M. Tech. in Electronics Engineering and D. Phil. from University of Allahabad. Presently he is engaged in teaching and supervising research in the area of Optical Fibre Communication. Fellow and member academic bodies as FIETE, MISTE, MSEE, MSISPS and expert member of several institutions. He has more than 30 research publications.
