Dr. Magatte Mbaye is an obstetrician/gynecologist and assistant chief of service at the University Teaching Hospital Le Dantec, Dakar, Senegal. He is a member of the Senegal Association for Gynecology and Obstetrics as well as the Network for the Prevention of Maternal Mortality in Senegal. Dr. Mbaye is a national trainer in basic emergency obstetric and newborn care and, in his participation as an Africa Champion, he hopes to increase access to high-quality maternal and newborn health care for women in his country.
