Prof Deborah White is the Director of Cancer Research and Deputy Cancer Theme Leader at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) in Adelaide. Deborah White is a Principal Research Fellow with SAHMRI, and a Professor in both Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Adelaide. In addition, she is a Fellow of the Faculty of Science (Royal College of Pathologists of Australia) a member of the American, European and Australian Societies of Haematology and the International Children’s Oncology Group.

The Wnt/β-catenin signaling plays indispensable roles in embryonic development and adult homeostasis. Through diverse mechanisms which are partially defined, abnormal activation of β-catenin occurs frequently in neoplastic disease. A critical function for Wnt/β-catenin in solid tumors, in particular colorectal cancer, has been well characterized.
