Prof. Giovanni DI GUARDO, DVM., Dipl. ECVP graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1982, cum laude, at the University of Bologna, Italy. In 1995, he was appointed a ?Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists? (ECVP). Since 2002, he is an Associate Professor, teaching ?General Pathology and Veterinary Pathophysiology?, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Teramo, Italy. His main research interests include comparative neuropathology, with special emphasis on prion diseases (with particular reference to sheep Scrapie), as well as cetaceans? pathology. He has published/co-authored over 450 scientific papers, 110 of which published in international peer-reviewed Journals.
