Biography

VEGF- mediated gene therapy is a potential new treatment for patients with advanced cardiovascular diseases. However, previous clinical trials have not been able to convincingly demonstrate the efficiency of VEGF gene therapy in humans. Low gene transfer efficiency and insufficient gene expression time could be major contributing factors.
