Main focus of our research is in the pathophysiology and therapy of psychiatric disorders like affective disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and schizophrenia. Using multimodal neuroimaging techniques, genetics, epigenetics, behavioural investigations and neuropsychological examinations we examine, how stress or other environmental factors interact with genetics on the structural and functional integrity of the brain in order to understand the underlying neurobiological processes.

Depression is one of the most common psychological disorders in children and adolescents often presenting as a severe, chronic and recurring condition with a high risk of self-harm and suicide.
