 Yu Yang  Department of Chemistry, University of Patras, Greece,  A chronic inflammatory disorder affecting many joints, including those within the hands and feet.In atrophic arthritis, the body's system attacks its own tissue, including joints. In severe cases, it attacks internal organs.Rheumatoid arthritis affects joint linings, causing painful swelling. Over long periods of your time, the inflammation related to atrophic arthritis can cause bone erosion and joint deformity.
