Biography

Dr. Cynthia LeardMann is a senior epidemiologist at the Deployment Health Research Department, Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, California. Cynthia received her bachelor’s degree in biology at UCSD and an MPH at San Diego State University. In her 9 years at the Naval Health Research Center, she has been an author of over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles. Cynthia is an investigator of the Millennium Cohort Study, Millennium Cohort Family Study and the Recruit Assessment Program. Cynthia’s research efforts center on deployment-related health with a focus on posttraumatic stress, depression, suicide, and sexual trauma. Cynthia’s work has appeared in journals such as JAMA, BMJ, Archives of General Psychiatry, and British Journal of Psychiatry.
