Dr. Luci Teixeira-Salmela is a professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the Universidade Federal of Minas Gerais in Brazil. She has a bachelor degree in physical therapy in Brazil and has completed her master and doctoral studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada and her post-doctoral studies at the Université de Montréal in Montreal, Canada. She acted as the director of the Department of Physical Therapy and of the Graduate program in the Rehabilitation Sciences.She has supervised more than 40 graduate students and her research has been focused on stroke rehabilitation. She has published widely in Brazil, as well as in international journals and is recognized worldwide as a leading expert in the area of stroke rehabilitation.
