Abstract

Evaluation of Routine Chest X-rays Performed in a Tertiary Institution in Nigeria

The frequency of routine chest x-ray request in our teaching hospital is very high, as it is considered a prerequisite in preadmission, pre-employment and pre-operative cases. Literature however shows that the yield of these x-rays was very low in most cases. We therefore aim at finding the prevalence of unexpected abnormal findings on routine chest x-rays.
