Special Issue Introduction

Cell Biology: Research & Therapy proclaiming its upcoming special issue on the topic of Cell Signaling: Advances & Application. The novel methods and techniques related to cell signaling will be published in this special issue. All living cells sense and respond to their environment by a set of mechanisms known as cell signaling – part of a complex system of communication that governs basic cellular activities and coordinates cell actions. To understand cell behavior, one must understand cell signaling. The tools of molecular biology have revealed many of the genes and proteins involved in cell signaling, still lacks a deep understanding of how it actually works.

Errors in cellular information processing are responsible for diseases such as cancer, autoimmunity and diabetes. One has to understand cell signaling enough to treat these diseases effectively and potentially to build artificial tissues.

  • The Special Issue on “Cell Signaling: Advances & Application” would present results of research on:
  •  The critical molecules involved in cell signaling
  •  The core messengers, inhibitors and regulators involved in cell signaling
  •  Impact of cell signaling on surrounding areas.
  •  The effect of cell signaling in the cell growth, cell synthesis and cell death.
