Abstract

Metformin Exposure in Early Pregnancy and Spontaneous Abortions in Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

We sought to determine whether metformin affects the rate of first trimester spontaneous abortions and congenital malformations in women with PCOS. Design. Consecutive series of metformin treated women with a questionnaire followup. Setting. Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Herning and Holstebro Hospital. Population. 117 women with PCOS treated with metformin prior to and during early pregnancy.
