Abstract

This seminar presentation will delve into the intricate relationship between Technology Push, Innovation Management, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), with a particular focus on how these elements are incorporated in the process of Technology Transfer. We live in an era where technology is evolving at an unprecedented rate, leading to a constant push for fresh technological discoveries. It is imperative to understand how innovation management can navigate this wave of technology push to protect and leverage Intellectual Property Rights. The talk will explore the concept of 'Technology Push', a scenario where technological advancements drive the development of new products or services. This process is often constrained by a lack of understanding about the market needs and may lead to unutilized technology or failed products. Thus, effective innovation management becomes critical to align technological advancements with market requirements. However, the process doesn't end there. Ensuring the protection and proper utilization of intellectual property rights generated from these innovations is equally important. The talk will discuss the role of IPR in safeguarding the interests of innovators and businesses, encouraging further innovation, and promoting healthy competition. Further, the presentation will shed light on 'Technology Transfer', a process that involves sharing or transferring knowledge, skills, technologies, methods of manufacturing, samples of manufacturing, and facilities among governments or universities and other research institutions to ensure that scientific and technological developments are accessible to a wider range of users. This process is vital for technological advancements to be widely disseminated and used for broader societal benefits. Through this talk, we hope to provide insights into managing innovation effectively in the face of a technology push, securing intellectual property rights, and incorporating these elements in technology transfer for maximized utilization and benefits. The intention is to stimulate a dialogue on aligning technological advancements with market needs while protecting the rights of innovators and fostering an environment conducive to further innovation.
