I gained my M.Sc at University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, investigating the management of flood flows towards crop production risk management using hydraulic and GIS modeling in a typical alluvial watershed of Bangladesh. After completion the degree I joined as a lecturer at the Jagannath University, Bangladesh. My time in the university widened my research interests to include fluvial geomorphology of various types of rivers and their floodplains. Applications of GIS and Remote Sensing as well as hydraulic modeling in spatial sciences are one of my keen interests. In 2014, I have been selected as a successful candidate for the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) - Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) to peruse PhD at the University of Melbourne. In mid-2014 I moved from Bangladesh to Melbourne, where I took up my current PhD position at the university. Here, in particular, I am looking for the development incisional avulsion channels in anabranching river floodplain.
