Biography

I received my PhD in Environmental and Molecular Toxicology from Oregon State University in 2010 during which I worked on the influence of immune system on tissue regeneration. Following which I joined Weill Cornell Medical College and Dr Sally temple to work on neural stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells with an objective to understand differentiation of stem cells in the context of disease and injury. Currently I am working as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Ophthalmology, Johns Hopkins University, to study retinal diseases in a regenerative context. I am interested in understanding how stem cells respond to cell loss induced by disease or injury by interacting with the niche.
