About Geographic Information Science (GIScience)
Geographic Information Science (GIScience) is the information system with advanced computer technology used to evaluate, design, edit and visualize the geographic information from the database in the disciplines of social, environmental, biological, health and engineering sciences.
Geographic information systems (GIS) bring together computing, geography, environmental science and analytics for collecting, analyzing and modeling geospatial data in applications. The widespread adoption of digital technology coupled with management of very large spatial data sets has led to the development of Geographic Information Science.
GIS allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, reports, and charts.
