About Medicinal Chemistry

Medicinal chemistry is the chemistry discipline concerned with the design, development and synthesis of pharmaceutical drugs. It combines expertise from chemistry and pharmacology to identify, develop and synthesize chemical agents that have a therapeutic use and to evaluate the properties of existing drugs. Medicinal Organic chemistry deals with the structure, properties, and reactions of Pharmacoanalysis, the chemical analysis and organic compounds. Medicinal Organic Chemistry Letters will be merged with Chemistry section. Medicinal chemical research is disclosure of novel experimental achievements. Medicinal chemical research feats in many facets of drug design, drug discovery and the elucidation of mechanisms of action of biologically active compounds. Applied Medicinal Chemistry in its most common practice focusing on small organic molecules. Applied Medicinal Chemistry encompasses synthetic organic chemistry and aspects of natural products and computational chemistry in close combination with chemical biology, enzymology and structural biology, together aiming at the discovery and development of new therapeutic agents. Medical biochemistry is a field that studies different types of molecules in hopes of bettering technology and medicine. In order to work in the medical biochemistry environment, students typically need to get an advanced degree, such as a master and doctorate.
