About Oral Histology

Histology is the study of microscopic anatomy of cells and tissues of living organism and is carried out by evaluating the cells or tissues that sectioned, stained and mounted under microscope. Oral histology and embryology gives strong foundation in oral biology. Oral histology is the microscopic study of Oral Mucosa, structure variation in relation to functional requirements, mechanisms of keratinization, clinical parts of gingiva, Dentogingival & Mucocutaneous junctions & lingual papillae. Embryology is the study of prenatal development throughout the stages before birth. Oral Embryology is the study of embryonic formation and developmentin other words it is the study of prenatal development throughout the stages before birth. Oral histology and embryology touches on the development and growth of teeth and oral cavities, as well as the structure and development of salivary glands.
