About Pharmacology of Diseases
Pharmacology connects the gap between medical practice and laboratory science. It explains the way the living organisms react to chemical agents, underlines the importance of registered medical practitioners and prescribed drugs, create awareness about the maximize the drug effects and minimize the side effects. It includes the study of adverse drug effects, therapeutics, and toxicology including reproductive toxicology, cardiovascular risks, preoperative drug management and psychopharmacology. Pharmacotherapeutics is a branch of Pharmacology, which is defined by Merriam-Webster as “the study of the therapeutic uses and effects of drugs” this is a study of beneficial and adverse effects of drugs. A drug interaction is a situation in which a drug interacts with another substance, which could be another drug, or food, sometimes disease also. This action can enhances the drugs effect (synergistic) or my decrease the drug activity (antagonistic) or a new effect can be produced that neither produces on its own. Drug interactions occur when the effect of a particular drug is altered by another drug. Drug food interactions occur when drug interacts with the food and food products. The Drug Interaction Checker explains the mechanism of each drug interaction, the level of significance of the interaction (major, moderate or minor), and in certain cases, can provide the recommended course of action to manage the interaction.
