About Post-traumatic Stress disorder
Post-traumatic stress is a mental health condition that is triggered by a terrifying event - either experiencing it or witnessing it. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares and severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event. It develops after a terrifying ordeal that involved physical harm or the threat of physical harm. The person who develops PTS may have been the one who was harmed, the harm may have happened to a loved one, or the person may have witnessed a harmful event that happened to loved ones or strangers.
