Semiconductor is a material that conducts current at a particular a value depending on the type of material used. The conductivity of a semiconductor is somewhere between that of an insulator (which has almost no conductivity) and a conductor (which has almost full conductivity).Semiconductor devices are electronic parts that enhances the electronic properties of materials, mainly silicon, germanium, and gallium chemical compound, and organic semiconductors. Semiconductor devices have replaced particle devices (vacuum tubes) in most applications. They use electronic physical phenomenon within the solid state as opposed to the gassy state or thermal emission during a high vacuum.
