"Journal of Traumatic Stress Disorders & Treatment is an online peer-reviewed scholarly journal that aims to publish the most complete and reliable source of information on the discoveries and current developments in all areas pertaining to traumatic stress and mental disorders. Mental illnesses are medical conditions that disrupt a person's thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. There are many different conditions that are recognized as mental illnesses. Serious mental illnesses include major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and borderline personality disorder. The cause of mental disorders varies and in some cases it remains unclear. Genes and family history may play a role in mental illness. Life experiences may also be the reason. Other factors such as use of inappropriate drugs and medical conditions such as cancer may also increase the chance of getting mental illness. Mostly mental disorders are treatable. Psychotherapy and psychiatric medication are two major treatment options. Journal of Traumatic Stress Disorders & Treatment publishes results of research on Traumatic Stress, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders, Psychological Trauma, Mental Disorders and their Treatments. The journal successfully follows hybrid policy of publication that offers authors with the choice of publishing via customary subscription method or making their article open access. The Journal uses Editorial Manager System to maintain quality review process. Editorial Manager is an online manuscript submission, review and tracking system. Review process is performed by the editorial board members of Journal of Traumatic Stress Disorders & Treatment; the validation by at least two independent reviewers followed by the editor’s approval is required for the acceptance of any citable manuscript for publication in the Journal.
