Advances in Dermatoscopic Techniques for Skin Cancer Diagnosis

The diagnosis of skin cancer has been significantly improved through advances in dermatoscopic techniques, which provide enhanced visualization of skin lesions and enable earlier detection of malignancies. This article reviews the latest developments in dermatoscopy, including the integration of polarized light systems, smartphone-based imaging, and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. The clinical benefits, limitations, and implications for patient outcomes are explored, alongside the importance of training for accurate interpretation. Additionally, future prospects for AI-assisted dermatoscopy and integration into teledermatology services are discussed, with an emphasis on improving accessibility and early cancer detection rates.
