Ribosome Decoupling Induces Apoptosis

In the present contribution, we propose that t-RNA inhibition via
complementary oligomer strands against t-RNA loops upregulates
apoptosis. We have developed multiple oligomers
that bind to different loops of the tRNA molecule. We explore
the possibility of inhibition of protein formation within the cell by
means of the interaction of our pharmaceutical agent termed
IMTX-7135TM with t-RNA and the interaction of ribosomes. We
propose that cytosolic ribosomes are intimately linked to
mitochondrial t-RNAs; thus interruption of translational
processes in the cytosolic ribosomes impacts mitochondrial
functionality. This current contribution sets the background
hypothesis for our experimental work.
