Sustainable Silk Dyeing With Fungal Pigments: A Commentary

This commentary discusses the significance of microbial dyes as eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic dyes. Focusing on a study utilizing a fungal pigment from Talaromyces purpurogenus for dyeing silk fabric, the commentary highlights the potential of microbial dyes to reduce environmental impact. Leveraging optimization with RSM software, the fungal dye exhibits an impressive red to rose shade on silk fabric at pH 5.
