Special Issue Introduction
Journal of Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering introduces its Special Issue on “Wearable Technology: From the Single Elements to the Integrated Systems”.
Wearable technology or Wearables is a category of technology devices that can be worn by a consumer and often include tracking information related to health and fitness. Other wearable technology gadgets include devices that have small motion sensors to take photos and sync with your mobile devices. Wearable Technology is close to the body and enables technology to be used in situations where it normally is not possible. Wearables are rapidly evolving from single function, hard to connect, dumb devices, to what we believe will increasingly become multifunction, always connected, smart/aware devices.
This Special Issue is intended to highlight various aspects of Wearable Technology and its new developments through its publications. Topics for this issue include, but not limited to:
• Wearable Technology & its Applications
• Smart Textiles
• Single element Wearable Technology
• Integrated systems
• Innovative developments
Textile Structures will provide an excellent platform for creating smart wearable systems. Textiles can be enhanced with added functionality by the integration of information technology into the material that forms them.
By fully integrating electronics into the heart of textiles at the yarn production stage, the aim is to facilitate the manufacture of a new generation of wearable electronic systems.
JFTTE invites the eminent scholars and experts in the field of Fashion & Textile Engineering to share their thoughts through their research works in the form of Original Research Articles, Reviews, Commentaries, Case Reports, Short Notes, Rapid and/ or Short Communications etc.
