Biography
Dr. Alfonso Quintas-Cardama currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Leukemia at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.Dr. Alfonso Quintás-Cardama joined the hematology/oncology fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas upon completion of Internal Medicine training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, both in New York.
Research Interest
Dr. Alfonso Quintas-Cardama is interested in developing novel targeted agents for the treatment of leukemias and the development of strategies for the eradication of minimal residual disease in myeloid malignancies. He has published extensively in the field of leukemia in top-tiered journals, presented investigative work and lectured at multiple international meetings, and serves as a reviewer and editor in a long list of journals devoted to research in hematological malignancies, such as a chronic myeloid leukemia and myeloproliferative neoplasms, in which Dr. Quintás-Cardama is a world renowned expert.
