Dr. Aliyu Hamza Balarabe is currently working as consultant Ophthalmologist at Federal Medical Centre, Birnin kebbi, Kebbi State, Nigeria. Dr. Balarabe received his MBBS Degree from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. He completed his Fellowship programme at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in Kwara State Nigeria. He was awarded a Fellowship certificate by the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), Faculty of Ophthalmology. He is a part time Lecturer at the School of Optical Dispensing Technology in Birnin kebbi, Nigeria and a Visiting Lecturer at the College of Health Sciences of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. Dr. Balarabe has authored several publications in various journals. His publications reflect his research interests in Ocular inflammation and rehabilitation of the irreversibly blind. Dr. Balarabe is also an Associate Editor of Kebbi Medinews, an official publication of Nigerian Medical Association, Kebbi State chapter. Dr. Balarabe is serving as a fellow of NPMCN. Dr Balarabe is awarded by NPMCN with FMCOph.

Dr. Balarabe research focuses on ocular infections, ocular inflammations, ocular oncology and rehabilitation of the visually disabled.
