Biography
Concetta Alafaci has a Degree with honors in Neurology at the University of Messina (October 1985); Degree with honors in Neurosurgery at the University of Messina (October 1996); Scholarship "Wellcome Trust Research Fellowship" at the Department of Anatomy, University College London and Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London with the position of Honorary Research Assistant (1985/1986); Doctorate (Ph.D.) in the Department of Anatomy and Embryology, University College London and Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London, England (1985/1987); Enabling National Scientific achievement in the first rank of Professor (2012); Training in Health Management for managers of complex structures (2014-2015).
Research Interest
Neoplasms cerebral vascular disease, head trauma, neurovascular conflict (Trigeminal Neuralgia, emispasmo the facial, glossopharyngeal neuralgia, etc.); Herniated discs, spinal tumors, lumbar canal stenosis. III ventricolocisternostomie endoscopic hydrocephalus aqueduct stenosis; Derivations ventricular-peritoneal valve programmable; Interventions on the peripheral nervous system (entrapment of the ulnar nerve at the elbow and the median nerve at the wrist); Monitoring intracranial pressure (ICP).
