Biography
Davide Scannapieco is a Research Fellow in Environmental Pollution and Water and Wastewater Treatment at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Salerno. He holds a B.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, a M.Sc. (during which he worked at Cranfield University, UK) in Environmental Engineering, and a Ph.D. (during which he worked at the University of Washington, US). His M.Sc. thesis was aimed to investigate Advanced Oxidation Processes (heterogeneous photocatalysis TiO2/UV) to remove pesticides (atrazine, chlorpyriphos, metaldehyde) from drinking water. His doctoral research activity has beenmainly focused on Membrane BioReactors (MBRs) - especially in submerged configuration - and related fouling control. He worked as visiting researcher at Cranfield University - Centre for Water Science from September 2010 to January 2011 and as research assistant at the University of Washington from January to October 2013. His research interests include environmental pollution, wastewater and drinking water treatment, as well as environmental impact assessment and water quality assessment in surface water. He is teaching assistant at the University of Salerno, School of Engineering, for the Environmental Pollution class, since 2012. He is reviewer for several international ISI journals. He is also member of both the International Water Association and Young Water Professionals.
