Biography

Dr. Elise Champeil is currently an Associate Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, USA. Dr. Elise Champeil chose to work in organic chemistry because it is a hands-on science with a very creative side. Dr. Elise Champeil has always been interested in creating new things and in the scientific process through which matter gets transformed.

Research Interest

Dr. Elise Champeil's research interests include the synthesis of new derivatives of Mitomycin C (antitumor antibiotics made by Streptomyce) as well as the detection of drugs of abuse by NMR spectroscopy. She also is involved in the synthesis of molecular sensors for the detection of hydrogen fluoride and fluoride ions.
