Biography
Fatih M. Uckun, M.D., Ph.D, is a Senior Member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), an honor society for physician-scientists, and an active member of several professional organizations, including ASH, ASCO, and AACR. Fatih Uckun earned his doctoral degrees at University of Heidelberg and completed his residency training in pediatrics, fellowship training in hematology/oncology/stem cell transplantation, as well as postdoctoral research training in immunology at the University of Minnesota. After serving at the University of Minnesota as a Professor of Pediatrics/Therapeutic Radiology/Pharmacology and Director of the Biotherapy Institute, Dr. Fatih Uckun served as Director of Research at Parker Hughes Institute in Minnesota before joining University of Southern California. Currently, Fatih Uckun is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. He is the Head of Translational Research in Leukemia and Lymphoma at the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases. Fatih Uckun directs an NIH-funded Nanomedicine R&D Program at the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Uckun has more than 20 years of professional experience in developmental therapeutics and biopharmaceuticals. He has published more than 400 peer-reviewed papers and he has authored numerous review articles and book chapters. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of Leukemia&Lymphoma and as a member of several editorial boards and NIH review panels. Dr. Fatih Uckun received numerous awards including the Stohlman Memorial Award of the Leukemia Society of America.
