Biography

Gregory J Zipfel is currently working as a professor of Neurological surgery and neurology In Washington University School of Medicine, USA. He received MD from Northwestern University Medical School in the year 1995.He has done BS in Biology  from  University of Illinois, Champaign, Urban. His Clinical Interests lie in Surgical treatment of cerebrovascular disease and complex tumors of the skull base. Special expertise in arteriovenous malformations, arteriovenous fistulas, cavernous malformations, meningiomas, craniofacial malignancies, carotid endarterectomy and cerebral revascularization surgery using intracranial bypass. His Research Interests lie in two main categories: 1) examining the effects of amyloid-β on cerebral arteriole function and assessing its contribution to ischemic brain injury, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and Alzheimer’s Disease; and 2) exploring the mechanisms that underlie cerebral vasospasm and cognitive deficits following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. He has published in a variety of peer-reviewed publications and books

Research Interest

 Surgical treatment of cerebrovascular disease and complex tumors of the skull base.
