Biography
Ken W. McCleary, professor of hospitality and tourism management in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech, has been conferred the title of “professor emeritus” by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
The title of emeritus may be conferred on retired professors and associate professors, administrative officers, librarians, and exceptional staff members who are specially recommended to the board of visitors by Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger. Nominated individuals who are approved by the board of visitors receive an emeritus certificate from the university.
A member of the Virginia Tech community since 1989, McCleary has contributed significantly to the knowledge of hospitality marketing strategy during his 24 year career. His scholarly research has led to the publication of numerous research papers, reviews, and book chapters.
In addition, McCleary has provided significant service to the hospitality industry; the International Council for Hospitality, Restaurant, and Institutional Education; the American Hotel and Lodging Association; and the International Academy of Hospitality Research.
